Time and the Rani by Pip and Jane Baker
Time and the Rani is the first story of Season 24. It marks the first appearance of Sylvester McCoy as the Doctor and the second appearance of the Rani.
There comes a time in every whovian's life that they have to do watch poor episodes of Doctor Who. This is one of them. I knew of the fan reputation of it and that is why I wanted it. As I go through the classic series of Doctor Who I don't want just have the bad ones to watch at the end so I decided I wanted this one. I went in with an open mind. It was better than I expected to a certain degree but wasn't the best of all time. It could well be my least favourite of the classic era (I have seen more than 12) but I'm not sure it will surpass Terminus.
Doctor Rating
7th Doctor: 7/10
He is fine but a bit weird. I haven't scored him lower on that due to it being a regeneration episode.
Companion Rating
Mel Bush: 5/10
Wooden as a stick. I have seen Mel before and she could have done better.
Enemy Rating
The Rani: 6/10
The Tetraps: 6/10
Total: 12/20
No disrespect to the Kate O' Mara, she is a fabulous actress but the character in this one was far weaker than the her previous appearance.
Story Rating
Story: 5/10
Scariness: 7/10
Humour: 6/10
Total: 18/30
It isn't the best of a story. The humour was there but flat.

I have to say that Time and the Rani did a better job than I expected. Even though it still came last.
