Film Reviews #6: Shaun of the Dead

Shaun of the Dead by Edgar Wright and Simon Pegg

The First part of the Cornetto Trilogy.

This is another classic. I really love this film..

Primary Cast

Shaun: 8/10 - Perfectly reasonable of a character but not quite as good as Pegg's character in Hot Fuzz
Ed: 8/10 - Really funny character.
Liz: 7/10 - An all right character
Total: 23/30

Secondary Cast

Diane: 7/10 - Good, just good
David: 6/10 - A bit annoying but that is the point
Barbara: 8/10 - Really funny character
Phillip: 8/10 - Too Small of role but great.
Total: 29/40

Enemy Rating

Zombies: 8/10 - Done before but this time it is different as they are comical

Story Rating

Story: 8/10 - Clever idea about zombies being comical.
Seriousness: 8/10 - Starts of being a bit silly but gets more serious
Scariness: 8/10 - Being humorous it still has it's guts and gore.
Humour: 10/10 - Really funny
Continuity: 9/10 - I did think that the mum was a zombie but apart from that it was fine.
Story: 43/50

Total: 103/130

Star Wars Episode VI: Return of the Jedi - 90.00%
Star Wars Episode VII: The Force Awakens - 86.47%
Star Wars Episode V: The Empire Strikes Back - 92.50%
World War Z - 70.00%
Hot Fuzz - 78.57%
Shaun of the Dead - 79.23%

So the record of being my best non-Star Wars film has been beaten by another of the same trilogy. I am hoping to watch World's End so it will be interesting to see where that will go.
