UPDATED: Doctor Who Film

It has been announced that BBC Worldwide and Sony Pictures will work together for a Doctor Who Film.

Steven Moaffat (head of Doctor Who 2010-) has said that Doctor Who will remain a television series until 2019 and the film will happen between 2022 and 2023.

It is unclear if the film will be part of the Doctor Who universe or if it will be like the Peter Cushing films in the 1960's that happened alongside the television series but was in a different universe. It is also unclear if the television series will return after the film or will Doctor Who remain in the film industry.

Doctor Who also made headlines earlier this month when Mark Gatiss revaled that his Doctor Who spin off series, PROBE (1994-1996) will return. The series followed Dr. Liz Shaw, who was a companion of Jon Pertwee, the third doctor. The actress of Liz, Caroline John died in 2012 aged 71 and Hazel Burrows will replace her.

UPDATED: Steven Moaffat has expressed that the thinks the film will make good money for the BBC but he believes it would work better as a TV Series and is likely to return to the TV series after the 1 film..

Star Wars Trailer Analysis

Yesterday we saw the new Star Wars trailer for Episode VII: The Force Awakens. Here is what you can experience if you watch it.

1. The Lucas Film Logo - We may not be able to see the classic 20th Century Fox logo but we still have the Lucas Film logo, now a silver colour to the usual

2. The Opening on Jakku - Jakku a new desert planet is not to be mistaken with Tatooine. Luke Skywalker's theme playing. A Speeder can be seen driving on this planet. During the speeder moving you can see a crashed X Wing and a Imperial Star Destroyer.

3. Luke's Speech - Several clips are seen and through out this Luke speaks. He says "the force is strong in my family, I have it, my father Has it and my sister has it, you have this power too" This as confused people to believe that Darth Vader is still alive. This is not true as this just taken from Luke from Return of the Jedi. He says this to tell Leia that she is his sister and she also has the force.

4. Darth Vader's helmet - Darth Vader's helmet is seen burnt as Luke burnt his body after he died on the Death Star. The helmet is on, what appears to be a Imperial Star Destroyer.

5. The Hooded Figure - A Hooded figure is touching R2 D2 while watching a fire. The man is considered to be Luke but has a more metal hand then he did before in the Empire Strikes Back and the Return of the Jedi.

6. The Giving of the Lightsaber - A man is giving a lightsaber (which is Anakin's and Luke'slightsaber seen through Revenge of the Sith to The Empire Strikes Back when it is lost after a duel with Darth Vader) this is also considered to be a flashback.

7. This Christmas - We are told when it will air. We already know it will air on 18th December this year.

8. The X Wings - X Wings are flying on a unnamed planet, but likely to be Yavin or Endor due to rumours and leaks of the story.

9. Poe Dameron - Poe Dameron, the Han Solo character of the film is excited to piloting a X Wing.

10. Three Bladed lightsaber attack - Kylo Ren, the new sith rumoured to played by Adam Driver is using his controversial three bladed lightsaber in a attack.

11. The Explosion - Finn, Rey and BB 8 are running away from an explosion on the planet Jakku. A TIE Fighter can be seen in space, properly what has caused the explosion. Finn is not wearing his storm trooper outfit as he was in the teaser trailer.

12. Kylo Ren - Kylo Ren is in front of a fire and storm troopers. He uses the force. This is the first time we see his face and it looks like Darth Revan's face from the old republic.

13. Storm troopers - There appears to be addressed by a Emperor figure in a Nazi way of addressing. They seem to preparing for war with TIE Fighters in the background. They are on a snow world, which could be Hoth. Kylo Ren in the first trailer was on a snow world but it was thought it was Endor with the snow being ash.

14. Rey - Close up on Rey

15. TIE Fighters -  two TIE fighters are flying with smoke underneath them.

16. Attack on Imperial hanger - the imperial star destroyer perhaps the super star destroyer is being attacked. Storm troopers are being shot and one gets blasted upside down.

17. Finn the Storm Trooper - Finn is back in his storm trooper outfit

18. Super Star Destroyer - A Vehicle followed by some TIE Fighters arriving at a Super Star Destroyer.

19. Captain Phasma - A Chrome Storm Trooper who is called Captain Phasma can be seen walking.

20. BB-8 - BB-8 is aboard the millennium falcon, peering behind one of the walls much like R2 D2 did on Tatooine in A New Hope.

21. Rey helping Finn - Finn is injured and is helped by Rey

22. The Chase - TIE Fighters chase the Millennium Falcon through the engines of a star destroyer, likely to be the one that crashed on Jakku.

23. TIE Fighter Pilot - A New design for a TIE Fighter pilot.

24. "Chewie, we home" - Han Solo and Chewbacca are on the Millennium Falcon and there home.

25. The Force Awakens - Star Wars the force awakens. Note that there is no Episode VII. Are Disney scrapping it?

Times Doctor Who was nearly cancelled

We know that doctor who will be over on television in 2019. If there is a series every year then it will be series 13 that will be the last.

We know this time that BBC worldwide and Sony pictures are working together for. New Doctor Who film to be released in 2022 or 2023.

Doctor Who has been cancelled before and has been nearly cancelled several times

1964 - after 4 serials and 20 episodes that was supposed to be it for the much loved series. The BBC realised the show's popularity and decided to extend the season and comminish a second.

1966 - William Hartnell, the first doctor, was suffering from ill health and the BBC thought it was unwise for him to continue the role. This meant that Doctor Who, which was still very popular had to go too. If it wasn't the producers that came up with the idea of regeneration then doctor who would have ended then and then.

1969- following Patrick Troughton's decision to leave the series, the BBC were considering axing the series as the viewing ratings had gone down. But the DW team came up with the idea of having the Dotor stuck on Earth and shortening the series from 40 episodes a year to 25.

1986 - Apart from the show's actual cancellation this is the closet the show has ever gone to the cancelling room. The BBC thought that the show they were making was only for a few million fans instead of a larger audience. Inbetween season 22 and 23 was the largest gap between seasons apart from when it was canclled. The show was put on a trail for one more season, so the DW team called the series Trail of a time lord. The show was continued but with some casualties. The show could only continue if Colin Baker would stay for only one episode of the next season to give him a regeneration story. The show would also hvw to moved to a later time and on a Monday as opposed to its Saturday time slot. Colin Baker was upset by this as he loved doctor who and wanted to overtake Tom Baker as the longest running doctor. Colin Baker said that he wanted to continue for one more season but the BBC said no so he did not continue as the doctor for the opening story ov the next season.

1989 - the show was watched by fewer then 2 million viewers and as the show was expensive to make the BBC axed the show for proper.

1996 - as early as 1990 ABC were interested in buying doctor who from the BBC. In 1996 the BBC and ABC worked together to make a doctor who film. If the show was succesful then ABC would continue the series until 1998 and then end it then. The show was watched by nearly 10 million in Britain and was a great succes but not in America so the show stopped once more.

2010 - Doctor who returned in 2005 and was a huge success. At the time of 2010 it was still very popular. The BBC thought that the show might have to end as the popular actor David Tennant was leaving the role as the doctor. The BBC thought that not many people would watch the series with a new doctor. Not just that though as nearly the whole of the crew were leaving the show as well. It was kept by a lot of a hard work by Russel T Davies, David Tennant and Steven Moaffat.

2019 - Doctor who will end in 2019 and will be replaced by a film series.

Doctor Who Film

It has been announced that BBC Worldwide and Sony Pictures will work together for a Doctor Who Film.

Steven Moaffat (head of Doctor Who 2010-) has said that Doctor Who will remain a television series until 2019 and the film will happen between 2022 and 2023.

It is unclear if the film will be part of the Doctor Who universe or if it will be like the Peter Cushing films in the 1960's that happened alongside the television series but was in a different universe. It is also unclear if the television series will return after the film or will Doctor Who remain in the film industry.

Doctor Who also made headlines earlier this month when Mark Gatiss revealed that his Doctor Who spin off series, PROBE (1994-1996) will return. The series followed Dr. Liz Shaw, who was a companion of Jon Pertwee, the third doctor. The actress of Liz, Caroline John died in 2012 aged 71 and Hazel Burrows will replace her.
