Top 10 Peter Capaldi Stories

Peter Capaldi has wrapped as the Doctor and so therefore has his era. Let's take a look back at the top 10 stories during his era.

Honourable mentions:
Deep Breath
Pyramid at the End of the World
Twice Upon a Time

10. Listen - Steven Moffat is always good at making mundane things scary and he succeeded here by making nothing scary.

9. Dark Water/Death in Heaven - The first series finale ended with the Master being revealed to be a woman. It was very good with the death of Osgood being very poignant.

8. Extremis - This story was very good and set the Monk trilogy out in a good start.

7. Mummy on the Orient Express - This story was a good rendition of the Agatha Christie classic with excellent guess stars

6. Oxygen - Oxygen was incredibly done exploring capitalism in true Doctor Who style

5. Under the Lake/Before the Flood - Base under siege stories are a favourite of mine and this is no different. The second part also is a twist to most of this format

4. Magician's Apprentice/Witch's Familiar - Good to see so many familiar locations and characters and was a good story. I did however disagree with some of the decisions regarding Davros

3. Heaven Sent/Hell Bent - This is certainly an interesting one for me to have picked for this position. Heaven Sent was magical, clever a fantastic cliffhanger and the best portrayal of the Doctor by Peter Capaldi. Hell Bent wasn't what it could have been which is incredibly annoying and why this two parter isn't first but it was still good when you see it as what it is.

2. The Zygon Invasion/Zygon Inversion - This tale felt quite classic with standout moments of course being that of the Church scene and the war speech.

1. World Enough and Time/The Doctor Falls - The first part is truly horrific in a new way of exploring the origins of the Cybermen. The second part is a beautiful portrayal of what the Doctor does. To improve to 10/10 standard it would have had to have featured more of John Simm's Master as well as keep that more of a surprise.

Sorry about that.
