Characters
Ezra Bridger - Ezra is quite obviously the main character of the series, constantly topping everyone else in terms of episodes that he features most prominently in. Dave Filoni has said that the last 11 episodes of the series are about Ezra and the wolves. It looks like Ezra's tale certainly involves Lothol and perhaps the final battle to liberate it, which might result in his fall. All we know is that by 3 ABY Ezra is no longer a Jedi, be it left the order or dead. The temptation of the dark side seemed to be last year's theme for Ezra so I doubt that will continue so it is more likely he will die. However Filoni said that the mysterious sith Presence will make a return at some point so it is still possible Ezra may turn...
Kanan Jarrus - Kanan is the character that every series finale I thought he would die. I am still wrong about that one. Perhaps this is his turn. Kanan's relationship with Hera seems to be a sup-polt in this series. I think Kanan will definitely die and it will probably be saving one of the crew, either Hera or Ezra. Like Ezra, Kanan has to have left the order by 3 ABY and I can't see him turning to the darkside so death seems to be the only answer...
Hera Syndulla - Hera is currently a captain in the Rebel Alliance, the highest rank of the Ghost crew. We know Hera will survive this as she is safe and well by Rogue One. The foucs with Hera seems to be her moving through the ranks to eventually a general, her relationship with Kanan and the assassination attempt on her life by Ruhk. I think Hera will feature more in this series after a little bit of a back seat in the previous two seasons.
Sabine Wren - Sabine was the first of the Ghost crew to leave the series only to return in the series finale and is a regular once more it seems. Whether her story will end with Mandalore at the beginning of the series we will have to wait and see but I presume it does.
Zeb Orrelius - Zeb doesn't really feature in the trailer too much, which suggests that he is simply the extra and therefore probably won't die but he might. Not to much to say about him really.
Chopper - Again with Chopper there isn't too much to say other than it looks like he is going under cover (again).
Rex - Rex doesn't feature in the trailer at all really other than in the background. At Celebration IX, Filoni and Hildalgo showed a picture of Rex in commondo costume, strongly suggesting that the former Rick Sant is Rex in Return of the Jedi. This would suggest that Rex survives. It has also been confirmed we will see Gregor and Wolffe again so it is likely that Rex will pop up in those episodes
Kallus - Along wit the Ghost crew, Kallus is the only character left from the beginning. He of course is now formally on the side of the rebels, complete with new costume and new hair design. I'm not sure what they'l do with Kallus but it probably involve spying to some degree. As he is not on Scariff at the time of Rogue One he could be relocated or he will have to die too. It would be quite powerful if he dies with Zeb, who were of course mortal enemies at one point. I'm not sure if Kallus will become a member of the ghost crew or he will have a sort of semi-role as a member of the ghost crew like Rex and AP-5.
Thrawn - The primary antagonist is back for another season, something that is unheard of in Star Wars Rebels. Thrawn is lacking in the trailer which suggests either that the marketing team don't see him as a headliner any more or he leaves pretty early on. As it has been confirmed that the first 5 episodes will be about the wrapping up of loose threads it is possible that Thrawn will depart in those episodes. The last 11 episodes are all about Lothol and wolves. I think there are two possible exits for Thrawn. One he splits with the empire (not joining the rebels however) because he disagrees with Krennic's Stardust project. Secondly he could be killed by Ruhk, the new character, because in legends that character stabs Thrawn after Thrawn wipes out his species. If Thrawn leaves early on I hope that he doesn't die so that he can be used again but if he does have to die I wouldn't mind him being betrayed but I would hope it would be at the end of the season (I know that that is contradictary of me as I hate the kill a series villain in the finale cliché) otherwise he feels like he has just been tagged on really.
Ruhk - Rukh is the second character to brought into the new disney canon from the old legends. Ruhk is a sort of assassin for Thrawn, who in the end kills him. In this series he is voiced by Warwick Davies, who has been in the most Star Wars projects behind Anthony Daniels (14) and Kenny Baker (7) and a few others. Warwick is certainly going to rise from his current total of 4 to 7 with an already confirmed role in Rebels (obviously), Episode 8 and Han Solo. Ruhk's primary role this season seems to be to assassinate Hera.
Governor Pryce - All she does in the trailer is walk but I reckon she will have a largeish role because of he being the governor of Lothol, which seems to feature prominently again.
Mon Mothma - It is unknown if Yavin is currently the Rebels HQ or if it is just a base but Mon Mothma certainly seems to be on the base. Mon Mothma is in charge of the Rebels so that makes sense. A large story for the first five episodes seems to be how Mon Mothma and Saw Gerrera split ways
Saw Gerrera - Saw returns and looks like he fills the Darth Maul evil-mentor role for Ezra. He seems to think that Mon Mothma is too passive and this looks like it is the reason why Saw decides to lead a separate group. A storyline involving Saw seems to focus a kyber crystal. It is also important to remember that we still need to see Saw's injuries that we see him cope with in Rogue One
Edrio "Two Tubes" - The trusty side-kick to Saw makes an appearane
General Jan Dodanna - Dodanna seems to fill the role of Sato but I strongly doubt that he will have many episodes were he is a prominent character
Bail Organa - Bail probably appears only for a bit of hologram advice and for the larger rebellion but I do hope we get a proper story with him or two. So far he is only in little cameo appearances here and there.
Tarkin - Tarkin seems to be not seeing eye to eye with Thrawn, believing that that Krennic's death star project is better for the empire. His disagreements with Thrawn could leave to the latter leaving the empire
Fen Rau, Ursa Wren, Tristan Wren and Bo-Katan Kryze - The Mandalorians probably have a large role at the beginning. If they beat the empire than the Mandalorian disappearance is most peculiar which leads to two conclusions. Either the Mandalorians will loose and die or they decide that they don't want to have any part in the bigger rebellion.
Ahsoka Tano - You have to leave with this one don't you. We know she is in it but what is her role. That we will have to wait and see.
