Peter Capaldi's influence on Doctor Who

I feel that Peter Capaldi has a great influence on the show, far more than Matt Smith. This is largely because he was a fan of the show beforehand. Doctors who were fans often do have a large influence on the show. Let's take a look at certain things that have occurred simply because of Capaldi

"Dude" and the Guitar - My least favourite part of the Magician's Apprentice and the only reason why it doesn't get a nine is the scene with the Doctor in medieval Essex. The scene with dude and the guitar is cringey. Little to my knowledge but it was Peter Capaldi who improvised that scene. Capaldi wanted the guitar because he was in a band.

Sonic Sunglasses - A lot of fans were not happy with the sonic shades but I quite liked them. I think they were a perfect evolution of the screwdriver. I was part of the fans who thought that the screwdriver fixed things to regularly and was a sort of magic wand. However those fans didn't seem to embrace the glasses. I do like the Sonic Screwdriver don't get me wrong and I do prefer it to the glasses but I didn't have any problem with them. Capaldi wanted the sonic shades because he thought it was unfair how children who couldn't afford a toy sonic screwdriver couldn't play with it so wanted the shades who could then be worn by the children and used as their sonic screwdriver.

"My name is Doctor Who" - Peter Capadli refers to himself as playing Doctor Who and always wanted to introduce himself as Doctor Who. Therefore he did.

Mondasian Cybermen - Moffat didn't like the Mondasian Cybermen and thought they were cheap and awful. Before Moffat began to work for Doctor Who he said that the 60's Doctor Who was bad and that the excuse of it was the 60's wasn't a good one because he thought that it was just Doctor Who that was bad not television in general. Capaldi's favourite monsters however were the Mondasian Cybermen so Moffat said he would include them if he could find the right story. He did and there they were, the race to end the Doctor. If the rumours are true and that Capaldi's last story is in Antarctica when the first Doctor was "ill" then it is possible that we might see another appearance of the Mondasian Cybermen and a third appearance of the Cybermen for Capaldi

Action Hero - Capaldi running around and blowing things up with his song screwdriver is something he wanted and something he got. Moffat even altered the script of the Christmas Special because Capaldi requested to do more Action Hero stuff.
