Pyramid at the End of the World is the second episode of the three part adventure which is the 6th story of the main run of Series 10.
Well I must say this episode was good. I mean I don't think it was as good as Harness and Moffat's last contribution but it does seem like these two do work together. As Moffat was added on late to this script it is obvious that Harness was the original writer and Moffat twicked to a sufficient amount that he had to be credited. Contrary to other reviewers I could tell which bits that I thought were Moffat's contribution. Particular the first episode of the series were I felt that Capaldi was going back to Matt Smith's Doctor, not of course Capaldi's fault but I am pretty certain this is Moffat.
Doctor Rating
12th Doctor: 8/10 - Shame to give him this score because I thought that his acting was excellent but due to a bit of Matt Smith adding I have to deduct a point
Companion Rating
Bill Potts: 8/10 - Bill was really quite sweet in this episode
Nardole: 7/10 - Back to the side-lines to you Nardole. It is a shame because as off last week I assumed now was the time that Nardole was going to do something from now on. Never Mind
Enemy Rating
The Monks: 10/10 - Truly brilliant and less like the Silence in this episode
Story Notes
Story: 9/10 - Good but not original as other films have used this idea but due to the interest of the invasion strategy I can give it a high score
Seriousness: 10/10 - End of the world scenerio
Scariness: 8/10 - The monks were less scary in broad daylight but still terrifying all the same.
Humour: 9/10 - A lot of funny dialogue in this episode especially near the end
Continuity: 7/10 - The lack of UNIT is a real blunder as is forgetting that World War Three has already happened, in 2006
Total: 43/50
Rest of Cast
Secretary General: 7/10
Don Brabbit: 7/10
Erica: 7/10
Douglas: 8/10 - A bit of waste of the brilliant Tony Gardner
Ilya: 6/10
Xialon: 6/10
Total: 41/60

6. Oxygen = 73.07%
7. Extremis = 80.77%
8. The Pyramid at the End of the World = 78%
The second highest for the episodes so far. I think that is again not entirely accurate. I would probably put it third behind Extremis and Oxygen.
Story Ranking:
1. Return of the Doctor Mysterio = 72%
2. The Pilot = 74%
3. Smile = 71.66%
4. Thin Ice = 73%
5. Knock Knock = 74.29%
6. Oxygen = 73.07%
7. Extremis/The Pyramid at the End of the World = 79.39%*
*The story is a three parter so the average will change
This three parter seems to be the best so far. Hopefully the final part can complete a very good set of episodes.
Scores out of 10:
Return of the Doctor Mysterio: 7/10
The Pilot: 7/10
Smile: 6/10
Thin Ice: 6/10
Knock Knock: 7/10
Oxygen: 8/10
Extremis: 8/10
Pyramid at the End of the World: 8/10
8/10 is still a good score but I am afraid that it appears that a '9' won't be given this series.
The Line Count and Pros and Cons for this episode will be up in around July once my GCSE's are over.
Join me next week (although it might not be next week) for my review for the concluding part of this trilogy: The Lie of the Land
