It's less than a week until the Last Jedi! How exciting!
The Last Jedi of course is the 2nd film of the sequel trilogy, 8th of the Skywalker Saga, 10th of canon and 14th overall.
The Last Jedi is 1 hour 50 minutes long, which is the longest film. The critics have been praising with some stating it is the best in the saga. Now let's be careful here of course as excitement might have got to even the critics. Some have said it drags a little in the middle and that there is a bit to much 'fat' like the prequels. We will see.
Well I think it looks like it is going to be different. Very different which differs from the Force Awakens and the early rumours that the Last Jedi will be an Empire Strikes Back remake, like perhaps JJ Abrams set it out to be. This is good but it could split the fandom, which would be highly interesting.
A main element of this film seems to be the middleway of the darkness and the light, which is something Disney seems to be addressing a lot with the likes of the Bendu in Rebels. Luke and Rey have been advertised in both trailers and posters to be perhaps turning to the dark side, which I doubt will occur.
Of course another question is what will happen to Leia. According to a few statements from Rian Johnson it appears what happens to Leia is not addressed in this film which is fine. I hope Leia gets the ending that her character deserves.
The parents of Rey is another question. Will it be Luke as some have suggested? Is it Snoke? We do know that there is a big ending and a huge revelation never seen before in Star Wars which means that it is beating the Vader revelation at the end of the Empire Strikes Back. Is Kennedy over reacting, who knows?
Who is Snoke is another question. It has been stated time and time again but people are still not convinced that Snoke is Snoke.
