Over the past week, the Doctor Who community have lost two greats. Paddy Russel was Doctor Who's first female director and one of the first of the BBC. She died at the age of 89. Dudley Simpson is the most prolific composer in the show's history, more so than the current Murray Gold. He was almost the sole composer, bar a few episodes, from Season 8 to 17 before he was fired by incoming producer John Nathan Turner. His last Doctor Who work was Shada, completed in 1979 but to be released for the first time later this month. He died at the age of 95.
