Knock Knock is the fourth episode of the tenth series of the modern era of Doctor Who. It guest stars David Suchet.
Mike Barlett's script was scary but perhaps let down by the ending... Here is the review...
But firstly the vault. I am a little disappointed that the person in the Vault is good and friends with the Doctor, which heavily hints at it being Missy or the Master. This is something that I am a little bit annoyed about. I want whatever's in the vault to remain an absolute mystery and a surprise and something that is very threatening when it is released.
Pros
The Creepiness - This episode was generally scary - just let down by the ending
The Twist - I actually enjoyed the twist at the end of him being her son. It showed the undying love of a son and his mother
David Suchet's Great Acting - Suchet is the most famous guest this series and he was certainly very good in this episode
Cons
Bill thinking the Doctor cramps her style - This is quite annoying as before Bill was so amazed by the Doctor but now thinks he will ruin her style
Everybody Lives - Death is something that Doctor Who has oddly shied away from recently which is incredibly annoying and peculiar . There was no reason for all the friends to come back to life.
The Harmless Villain - I didn't mind it in the episode but this is the fourth episode in a row where the bad guy isn't really that bad.
Unanswered Questions - How did no one notice, .i.e family or police that students were going missing every 20 years at the same place? How did the Landlord sneak about?
Doctor Rating
12th Doctor: 8/10 - Nothing special done in this episode
Companion Rating
Bill Potts: 7/10 - Good acting but as seen above I am a little annoyed about her sudden opinion of the Doctor
Enemy Rating
The Landlord: 10/10 - Absolutely fantastic and well acted
The Dryads: 8/10 - Why do floorboards squeak? Excellent use of something mundane and turning into something scary. Shame they are able to regurgitate their victims

Seriousness - 6/10: Losses points because of the ending
Scariness: 9/10 - Losses a point because of the ending but it was very freaky

1. Return of the Doctor Mysterio = 72%
2. The Pilot = 74%
3. Smile = 71.66%
4. Thin Ice = 73%
5. Knock Knock = 74.29%
I agree with the result that I did think it was the best episode of the series so far. However I thought it was more better than the Pilot than the score suggests. The episode has its faults though - which is why the score is so low. It appears this series that the episodes are all very close together in score.
Scores out of 10
Return of the Doctor Mysterio: 7/10
The Pilot: 7/10
Smile: 6/10
Thin Ice: 6/10 (-1)
Knock Knock: 8/10
Thin Ice, just like Smile, fell to a the victim of recent episode syndrome resulting in it being a higher score than it deserves. My reason for the change was that it was no where near as good as previous 7/10's so it had to move down to a 6.
