The Aztecs
The Moonbase
The Ark in Space

The Sontaran Experiment follows on from the Ark in Space, the second story of the Nerva Arc. It is the third story of Season 12 and the third story to feature Tom Baker as the Doctor. It is the second appearance of the Sontarans. It is considered the 4th of 5 best story of Season 12.

The Sontaran Experiment is a nice little two-parter, something we have not experienced since William Hartnell's the Rescue. The Story is very underrated and I think it is a good story. The Experiments are horrible at it really makes Sontarans look scary after watching Deep Breath with Strax, the clumsy sontaran. However I feel the ending is rushed as the Sontaran just melts away after getting tired fighting the Doctor. Sontarans don't get tired. And how the Doctor stops the invasion fleet from coming is a bit weird is well. Apart from the rushed ending the Story is very good.
