Doctor Who Classic Review #2: The Moonbase

The Moonbase by Kit Pedler

The Moonbase is the 2nd Cyberman Story, the 6th Story of Season 4 and Patrick Troughton's 4th Story. It is considered the 4th best episode from the Season 4.

The Moonbase is a good story about the Cybermen wanting to take control of the Earth's weather. But why? well that is not said, they just want revenge, which is impossible as they don't have emotions. The Seeds of Death, only two years later repeats the same idea as this but with the Ice Warriors. The Cybermen made history as being the second race to reappear and very soon after their first appearance. The Moonbase is a very good story.

Before the Scoring begins let's take a look at DWM's very best of the first five decades and see how well it did in turns of Season 4.

DWM's Very Best of the first five Decades

1. Power of the Daleks: Brilliant
2. Evil of the Daleks: Brilliant

4. The Moonbase: Good
5. The Faceless Ones: Good
6. The Macra Terror: Okay
7. The Highlanders: Okay
8. The Smugglers: Okay
9. The Underwater Menace: Bad
