Series 15 rankings and Gatwas' top 10

 Series 15:

8. Joy to the World (5/10) - I was not a fan of the Christmas special of this year. I found it to be a bit of nothing really where Anita was more interesting than the main companion.

7. Wish World/Reality War (5/10) - So much wrong with this story it is hard where to start. Mrs Flood being useless, Omega being a giant CGI monster that is destroyed by a big gun of all things, Belinda sidelined and then forced to be a mother. I found Poppy's disappearance to be emotional and I feel like that should have remained the case but I appreciate they had to find an outing for Gatwa. Susan Foreman also not explained. I hope that that is addressed.

6. Robot Revolution (6/10) - This one was a bit dull again and the ending was also naff.

5. The Story and the Engine (6/10) - This was okay and I liked the premise but there was a lot of convolution in the dialogue and it does make you wonder whether Doctor Who is made for young people, as in children in mind.

4. Lucky Day (6/10) - I liked the first half but I did not enjoy it after Conrad's true intentions were revealed. I found it all to be a bit cartoonish and the UNIT characters are too underdeveloped. That said I did not like Kate wanting to allow Conrad to be tortured. 

3. The Intergalatic Song Contest (6/10) - I liked this, I liked Rylan but I did not like the Doctor torturing kid. Yes, the Doctor does sometimes do this sort of thing but Belinda just brushed it off like it was nothing. It should not have been treated that way. Also the biregeneration of the Rani was something I do not welcome. Just comparing that reveal to Utopia is insane. 

2. Lux (7/10) - a good Doctor Who episode. Good monster, good set up. This would have been average in a RTD1 series, if not on the weaker side. This time round it is number two!

1. The Well (9/10) - I really enjoyed this and it has to be the top  because it actually made me really think about it. I enjoyed the Midnight link and the mystery surrounding the villain.

Gatwa Top 10

Like with Whitaker it is actually hard to find 10 really good episodes of the Gatwa era sadly but here we go:

Series 14 has 4 stories and series 15 has 6, but the top 5 is more dominated by series 14. Of these 10, I would deem only the top three to be great Doctor Who episodes, which is a shame.

So at this point last year RTD's new era was second only to his first. I am actually surprised to see one year on how high I regarded this series on first viewing. This is potentially spoilerific about seeing where series 14 moves to.

Okay, quite a grim reading. Before talking about series 15, there has been some movement of other series. Series 11, 6, 9 and 2 have had minor movements. Series 11 and Series 2 have gone slightly down, series 6 and 9, slightly up. Last year's series, series 14 has had a dramatic decline. This is the largest decline after a year of the series that I have recorded. Series 14 was my fifth favourite, it has now gone down to 11th. This is not good. Empire of Death really laid a bad taste in my mouth.

Series 15 has come in at 6.25 which is above the Whitaker three but that is all. Not a good position. Series 14 was I think saved by the 60th specials which I did like overall. Series 15 did not have that. A position of 6.25 shows that I thought the series was simply alright, not good, but overall not bad either. A long way off the RTD original era.

Speaking of eras, series 14 continued my trend of having all the series of an era altogether (i.e it didn't break up another era). I had RTD1, RTD2, Moffat, Chibnall. With series 15 being added to the mix, that trend has continued but the era has now dropped below Moffat. So Series 14 has dropped 6 series. 

Overall 3 series round to an 8, 7 series round to a 7, four series round to a 6, and one series rounds to a 5. 

Will there be another Doctor Who series to rank, that we will have to wait and see...
